RPA & Associates, LLC is a company dedicated to preserving the authenticity of historic buildings. We provide assessments for windows, doors, and woodwork. These assessments are a key component in maintaining the integrity of historic structures and conserving the history of the past architecture. The historic preservation process is very important for maintaining the history of the architectural elements because it shows the successes and failures of the design, material, and construction techniques.
Historic Assessment
Historic assessments consist of the following:
Sizing – dimensions of windows, doors, and millwork; light patterns, species of wood, styles of doors, shapes of millwork
Condition and Integrity report – evaluation of the degrees of decay, age of windows, doors, and millwork
Suggested Solutions – recommendations to include restoration or replacement of fenestration and woodwork, depending on age and restorability of fenestration and woodwork
Labeled Photographs – photographs labeled to correspond with the historic assessment; typical wall conditions showing decay and water penetration are included with photographs
Labeled floor plans – floor plans & elevations (to be provided by the architect and/or owners of the property) labeled to correspond with the historic assessment
